Ben Garvey
GLG - CEO & Founder
Ben founded Great Lakes Gaming in early 2020, looking to bring a new sense of professionalism and high-end gaming experiences to the amateur scene.
GLG started in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic, hosting various weekly video game tournament online for a growing audience, reaching thousands of players a month.
Ben led the development and operations of GLG’s new country club of gaming located at Innovation Square in the heart of Downtown Rochester, NY.

Mike Della Porta
Strategic Advisor - Youth Programming
To further our commitment to the Rochester community, we are proud to announce Mike Della Porta as Strategic Advisor, Youth Programs, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in community engagement, leadership, operations and technology and his passion for STEAM initiatives. In Mike’s new role, he will focus on outreach with local school districts, non-profits and other youth organizations to develop meaningful experiences for Rochester students.

Daniel Humphrey
GLG Lounge - General Manager
Dan embarked on the journey of broadcasting competitive fighting games six years ago under the name of 585FighterZ Esports Entertainment. Dan’s vision of seeing individuals test their skills in modern and retro fighting games inside of a competitive format has inspired him to bring this field of esports to a higher level.
The 585FighterZ began live-streaming offline FGC events hosted by existing entities, a few years later met with Great Lakes Gaming team at the lounge to begin hosting their very own tournament series called ‘LET’S ROC’. Dan says ‘It has been a pleasure to work alongside Ben Garvey, CEO of Great Lakes Gaming, as he shares his experiences as a rising business owner and event organizer.’
Working together, Ben and Dan have achieved several milestones that have in turn created communities and brought people together. As Dan embarks on a new era of gaming for the people of Rochester, NY and beyond he is honored to accept the title of General Manager of Great Lakes Gaming Lounge.

GLG Esports & Gaming Summer Camp 2025 Report
The GLG Esports & Gaming Summer Camp 2025 brought together over 200 kids from across Rochester, NY and beyond for a week of coding, game design, esports tournaments, video editing, and teamwork. From creating their own video games to presenting to parents on the final day, campers built skills, friendships, and confidence, all while having fun!

GLG After-School Classes give kids ages 8–16 a chance to learn, play, and create in a supportive environment. From building video games and designing characters to developing teamwork and strategy through esports, our 5 or 10-week programs inspire creativity, confidence, and community after the school day ends.
