The Esports & Gaming Summer Camp at Great Lakes Gaming in Rochester, NY, offers a unique experience for kids ages 8-12 & 13-16 who love gaming. This camp is a place where kids build friendships, sharpen skills, and dive into competitive and strategic gaming. In just one week, campers form lasting connections through team challenges, structured gameplay, and STEAM activities. Many return year after year, drawn by the camaraderie, expert coaching, and an environment that turns passion into growth.

Summer Camp: $500/Week
Early Arrival & After Care: $25/Day

Coding & Game Design
Learn Game Design!
Campers will learn game design techniques and lessons by creating a 2D platformer or battle game in a tool called Construct 3!
This week-long program teaches children game design using the Construct 3 engine. Campers will start with project setup and basic character movement, progressing to programming logic with "Events Pages" for controls and game mechanics. They will also design start/win screens and backgrounds before learning to create simple Enemy AI. The week concludes with a creative session where they add personal touches like projectiles to finish their unique game project.
Each camper will have the chance to make mini-games & maps in game titles like Fortnite & Fall Guys to be played with their peers for fun and for friendly competition! Maybe even win free snack prizes?

Esports Teams
Learn to compete & collaborate
Your camper will learn the basics of esports team organizing, team practice and improve at their favorite games. Titles include Rocket League, Fortnite (Parent Permission), and Smash Ultimate.
At the start of the week campers will be grouped up and tasked with creating a team name, logo and motto. Together they will play and compete against peers in pick-up tournaments and bracket play.

Video Editing
Learn the basics of video game live-streaming & editing
By the end of the week your child will have a video recording they edited of their game play against their peers!
Your child will also learn about best safety practices for online activities.
Campers will learn how to setup software and hardware required for Live-streaming! Activities include learning software tools like OBS, NVIDIA tools, YouTube & Twitch!
This activity will not have campers actually streaming to a live audience for safety reasons. Campers can take the lessons learned and live-stream from home or at the lounge after camp hours pending parental approval.
At the end of the week your child will have coded their own game, learned to play on an esports team, and have an edited video recording of their matches against peers!
