Campers learn game design techniques by competing with each other and discussing what makes some games fun and others frustrating.

Great Lakes Gaming is deeply grateful for the Rochester Area Community Foundation’s grant support which helped make our camp opportunities accessible to even more families within the City of Rochester.

GLG Staff work closely with summer campers to teach them game design, coding, and video editing.

GLG lounge associate, Zach, is helping summer campers build parkour maps in Fall Guys. Campers were then tasked with playing each others map, the hardest maps that Zach couldn’t beat in three tries won a free snack!

"We're incredibly excited to welcome young talent to Great Lakes Gaming this summer," says Ben Garvey, CEO.

"Our camps provide a safe, structured, and fun environment where kids explore passions, develop critical thinking, teamwork, and technical skills relevant to today's digital world. We're proud to offer a curriculum that entertains and equips campers with marketable skills for the future, and thanks to the Rochester Area Community Foundation for helping us to provide programs like ours to a broader range of young people."
